My Sundays are usually spent doing laundry and catching up on other mundane chores. I did not want to do that yesterday, not when it was 75 degrees outside. Yes, in San Antonio we were treated to a warm and sunny day. I put on a tank top and flip-flops and headed outside with my son and dog. We played catch and chased the dog and just sat in the sun. It was perfect.
Usually on Sundays my husband likes to make dinner, he enjoys cooking and this is his time to experiment. I was more than happy to stay outside and out of the kitchen. When I did finally make my way back inside I noticed he was preparing pasta with meatballs. I took a closer look at the pasta box and I noticed it was gluten free.
I was intrigued. Usually on pasta nights I make a big salad for the family and make myself some soup but I wanted to try this. It looked like regular pasta except it was white instead of golden. It cooked up very nicely it was firm and tasted good. My husband made me some meat free sauce, here is a picture of the pasta with the sauce on it. I paired it with my usual huge salad.
It doesn’t hold the sauce as well as pasta made with semolina does, but it tasted really good. It was a hit. My husband really enjoyed the taste and so did my son. My son devoured it and went on to lick his plate. I know, we seriously have to work on his table manners! I was so glad that he didn’t notice it was a different pasta than what he normally eats. I was also so glad that my husband decided to get gluten free pasta on his own, the less gluten the better.

This is a really nice blog Neven! I really love the story about telling your son “to much” about the walls…my kids are so inquisitive and I know how hard it is to pace yourself!
